tuesday tunes ~ Breathing by Lifehouse

I am hanging on every word you say
And even if you don’t want to speak tonight
That’s alright, alright with me
‘Cause I want nothing more than to sit
Outside heaven’s door and listen to you breathing
Is where I want to be

– Lifehouse, Breathing

Album : No Name Face

Another great song from Lifehouse. Never fails to make me cry every time I hear this song. I don’t know why, but Jason Wade always does that. ūüôā

tuesday tunes ~ Needs by Collective Soul

I don’t need nobody
I don’t need the weight of words to find a way
To crash on through
I don’t need nobody
I just need to learn the depth
Or doubt of faith to fall into

– Needs by Collective Soul

Album : Dosage

Amazing music. Amazing lyrics. Amazing video. This is one of my personal favorites. Enjoy listening to Collective Soul!

tuesday tunes ~ Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse

If shame had a face i think it would kind of look like mine,
if it had a home would it be my eyes,
would you believe me if i said i’m tired of this
now here we go now, one more time

– Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse

Album : No Name Face

What can I say? This song is my song. And Jason Wade is my hero. ūüôā The first album No Name Face¬†is one of my most favorite albums ever. I listen to it every now and then to recharge, to breathe some fresh air, to renew my spirit. It is a refuge I go to whenever I need one. A lifehouse, indeed.

tuesday tunes ~ Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional

My hopes are so high,
that your kiss might kill me.
So won’t you kill me,
so I die happy.
My heart is yours to fill or burst,
to break or bury,
or wear as jewelery,
which ever you prefer.

– Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional

Album : A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar

Dashboard Confessional is another great band in my playlist. Chris Carrabba is a great poet and storyteller.

tuesday tunes ~ I’m About to Come Alive by Train

Maybe I’m not but you’re all I got left to believe in
Don’t give up on me
I’m about to come alive
And I know that it’s been hard
And it’s been a long time coming
Don’t give up on me
I’m about to come alive

– I’m About to Come Alive by Train

Album : My Private Nation

I’ve been listening to Train’s albums these past few days and this song keeps on playing in my head. I love Train’s music. I love Patrick’s songwriting style. I love his emotions. I love how he plays with his words and turn them into something immortal, permanent and yet moving. I love how they make timeless music. Listening to them is an emotional journey…

tuesday tunes ~ Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann

“Don’t worry about the future.

Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.”

–¬†Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann

I deemed it necessary to reflect the entire lyrics for this wonderful song in this post. I fell in love with this song, with its brilliant words, the first time I had the chance to hear it. I learned that it was based on a Chicago Tribune column written by Mary Schmich entitled “Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young”.¬†It was published on June 1997 as her “Guide to Life For Graduates”¬†should she be asked to speak during commencement exercises.¬†The article¬†was translated into this song word for word with the omission of the opening remarks so you¬†still have to read the whole essay. Enjoy listening and reading!

tuesday tunes ~ Silent All These Years by Tori Amos

Years go by, will I still be waiting for somebody else to understand?
Years go by, if I’m stripped of my beauty and the orange clouds raining in my head.
Years go by, will I choke on my tears ’til, finally there is nothing left?
One more casualty, you know we’re too easy, easy, easy.

– Silent All These Years by Tori Amos

Album : Little Earthquakes

Another fantastic female artist, Tori Amos. Passionate and fiery. This song is beautifully made for equally beautiful people…

tuesday tunes ~ Do What You Have To Do by Sarah McLachlan

a glowing ember
burning hot
burning slow
deep within I’m shaken by the violence
of existing for only you

I know I can’t be with you
I do what I have to do
I know I can’t be with you
I do what I have to do
and I have the sense to recognize but
I don’t know how to let you go

Do What You Have To Do by Sarah McLachlan

Album : Surfacing and Mirrorball
