wednesday’s who ~ daughters…

Daughter, you are loved for the little girl you were…

the special woman you are now…

and the wonderful daughter you will always be.

                                              – Anonymous

Before she even learned to appreciate music, it was her mother’s lullabies that sent her to sleep.

Before she ever dreamt of some cute boy, it was her father’s butterfly kisses that lulled her to dreamland.

Before she uttered any other word, Mama and Papa are her two favorites.

Before she ever became a sister, a wife, a mother or a grandmother, she was first and foremost a daughter.

A daughter who was cuddled and adored by her parents…

wednesday’s who ~ sisters…

“Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                – Marilyn Monroe

She knows me like no one else does. Maybe it’s because we shared so many things together. From our set of parents, who gave us the same genetic make-up and childhood memories, to our values and beliefs that guide us in choosing battles we have to fight. From hand-me-down toys, clothes and books to read, to dreams we weaved during those midnight conversations. From tears we shed and laughters we shared while enjoying our movie times to those deepest, darkest secrets we confided to each other. From arguments and disagreements that rob us some scrabble matches to pets we learned to adore so much. She is a sister.

wednesday’s who ~ Mitch Albom Part II

It is to my greatest dismay that I wasn’t able to meet Mr. Mitch Albom in person. 🙁 I know it was a chance of a lifetime and I just let it pass me by. It’s not everyday that a best-selling author takes his time to visit our country. It’s not everyday that one of my favorite writers is just a bus ride away! I know I missed a lot. Being the one who wrote those stories that touched and enlightened me, I knew I have to see him and express my gratitude and support for what he is doing. And let him know that he’s making a difference and that he should continue doing so.

wednesday’s who ~ Kenshin Himura

I don’t even remember how many times I watched the Samurai X series be it dubbed in English (Channel 23) or Filipino (Channel 2). What I clearly do remember is the excitement, the thrill of anticipation every time I sat in front of our TV set to have another dose of Kenshin’s antics. It didn’t matter if the episode was a replay, the feeling was the same.

wednesday’s who ~ Darren Hayes

One of the very first persons who expressed his deepest sympathies to Filipino people after the tragic Yolanda was Darren Hayes. Yes, I am talking about the vocalist of Savage Garden, the one I am truly, madly, deeply in love with. 🙂 And I guess I love him more now if that’s even possible.
