Look who’s coming here in Manila! It seems surreal when i first heard about the news that Mr. Mitch Albom is coming to town! 🙂 But alas, this poster couldn’t be lying, could it?
I first encountered Mitch Albom through the book For One More Day. Well I know I was a bit late because it wasn’t his first work but his second or third, i think. But that encounter was unforgettable. He pulled a string in my heart, a string that so few people could pull. He made me cry. Maybe it was because I was so vulnerable that time or maybe I could just totally relate to his character, that while reading the book I was hoping against hope for that one more day. I don’t really know why or how, but this book had that effect on me and somehow it made me understand a lot of things that helped me survived while dealing with the loss of the two most important people in my life. It comforted me during those times of mourning and unrelenting melancholy.
Other books I read were equally significant reads. Tuesdays with Morrie is another tearjerker. The Five People You Meet In Heaven and Have a Little Faith are both must-reads for everyone. Mitch Albom has a way of seeing something extraordinary in the most ordinary of things. And another way of revealing these discoveries. And these books are proofs of his writing prowess.
